Grok AI Agent
People type "Grok AI agent" for two different things. One is informal: Grok wired up with tools so it can search, run code, and keep going across steps. The other is a real product name from xAI: Grok Bot.
Grok itself is xAI's assistant and model family. In chat it answers questions and helps with tasks. In the xAI API it can call built-in tools such as web search, X search (x_search), and code execution, plus custom functions you define. When that tool loop is on, calling the setup an "agent" is fair. The bare model or chat UI alone is not a fully autonomous agent. "Autonomous" here usually means choosing the next tool step inside a fixed environment, not open-ended independent judgment.
Grok Bot is the official agent product. xAI describes each Bot as a persistent, named teammate. Bots share one cloud computer scoped to your account, with a browser, filesystem, and terminal. They can sign into apps and websites, finish work in those tools rather than only drafting chat replies, run in parallel, pass context between each other, and come back when something needs approval. That is closer to what buyers mean by an AI agent than a single Grok reply.
There is still no official SKU branded exactly "Grok AI Agent." The phrase is a search label that covers tool-calling Grok setups and, increasingly, Grok Bot. Live data from X or the web does not guarantee accuracy: posts can be wrong or manipulated, and the model can misread them. What you get on a given day depends on the product and tools you actually enable.
