Apart from remote work with flextime — most roles are fully remote, and any hybrid requirement is stated in the job ad — each Vstorm community member receives an annual budget of up to 8.000 PLN to drive their full potential and life goals: passion, learning, travel, and self-development.
Where is your company headquarters? +
We are a remote-first company, so we do not have a traditional headquarters. Our primary location is Wrocław, Poland, where the core team is based. Engineers work from across Poland and other countries.
How does Vstorm communicate daily? +
Slack, Hangouts, Google Docs, Notion, and similar tools. Partners use private channels, regular coffee chats, and social channels. We also run online events so the community stays connected.
Where do I receive work equipment from? +
Our partners provide the workstation and a phone when needed.
How does the recruitment process look? +
A short phone interview with a Vstorm team member, then a technical interview with our partner. It may be one interview up to about 1.5 hours, or two if we need more depth. After screening and the technical round, we prepare an individual membership offer.
How long is the recruitment process at Vstorm? +
Usually 1 to 3 weeks — enough to check culture fit and whether experience meets the partner requirements. Then you receive a membership offer with perks, financial details, and contract terms.
Are all jobs on your website authentic? +
Yes. Roles on the job boards come from partner requests. We fill them when we find the right candidate — they are as accurate as the demand behind them.
Who are you looking for? +
We recruit for many positions, including non-IT roles. Check open roles on the Career page. For engineering, partners expect remote developers with commercial experience who can produce value quickly on complex codebases.
Can you share information about the project I would join? +
How much we can share depends on the project and NDAs. Usually we share a description that does not break agreements. Once assigned, the project manager, account manager, and team share the details you need.
What level of English is required? +
Most clients are international, so you must communicate freely in English. Fluency in conversation matters more than a certificate.
If I want to relocate to Poland, would you help? +
Yes — for EU residents and non-EU residents, especially from Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, and Armenia. We can help with tickets, accommodation, legalisation of stay, and day-to-day support for guests in Poland.
Can I work with Vstorm as a non-EU-based citizen? +
Yes, though some projects require EU citizenship or physical presence in Poland.
Do I work in teams or alone? +
Most roles sit on projects that already have several developers. You will rarely be alone — that usually only happens when the developer is highly experienced across every skill the role needs.
Do you have a flextime approach? +
Yes. Time zones require some overlap with partners (usually 4–5 hours). As long as you commit to that overlap and the necessary calls, flextime applies.
Do members work on one project or many? +
One project at a time. Context-switching is costly — especially when you are in deep focus — so we keep assignments focused.
Will you hire me full-time or as a freelancer? +
We primarily offer full-time (168 hours per month), long-term remote contracts with our company in Poland. Part-time may be offered under certain conditions.
Will I be working full-time or part-time hours? +
We hire people who can dedicate themselves fully to a project — a standard 40 hours per week.
Will I have paid vacation? +
Vstorm Team does not offer standard paid vacation, but can arrange time off. We encourage you to incorporate vacation into your hourly rate. Every five years you get a 30-day paid break.
Is there any probation period? +
We usually do not have a probation period, but that can change if a partner requires it.
How will I get paid? +
You receive an hourly wage set at the end of the application process based on experience, communication, leadership, and overall skills. We transfer payment within 14 days of the invoice date.
How does the company calculate time spent on projects? +
We do not use spying software. Time-tracking tools or a simple spreadsheet let you report hours worked so pay matches what you delivered.
Do I need to take care of my taxes? +
Yes. As a full-time contractor you handle your own taxes. For Polish residents, Vstorm offers tax advice and cost optimisation with our experts.
How long will my contract last? +
Most contracts last about two years or more, depending on partner needs. Some are as short as three months; others have lasted ten years.
What is the annual community budget? +
Each Vstorm community member receives up to 8.000 PLN a year for learning, wellness, sport, gear, travel, or whatever fuels your growth. How you spend it is up to you.
How do you support career progression? +
Regular feedback, peer mentoring, the Vstormpedia knowledge base, and project rotations that stretch your scope as you grow.
Is the role fully remote? +
