AWS AI Agent
AWS AI Agent refers to autonomous artificial intelligence systems built on Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure, primarily through Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, which orchestrate multi-step tasks across enterprise systems and data sources. The earlier service, Amazon Bedrock Agents (launched November 2023), was renamed Amazon Bedrock Agents Classic and entered maintenance mode on July 30, 2026: existing agents keep running, but the service is closed to new customers and its model catalog is frozen. These agents use foundation models to break down user requests, gather relevant information, and efficiently complete tasks by automatically calling necessary APIs and data sources. AWS AI Agents help end-users complete actions based on organization data and user input, orchestrating interactions between foundation models, data sources, and software applications. Built on a fully managed, serverless architecture, these agents integrate seamlessly with AWS Lambda functions, knowledge bases, and enterprise systems while maintaining enhanced security and privacy protocols. AWS supports multi-agent collaboration capabilities, enabling agents to work together for higher task success rates and enhanced productivity.
