Agentic AI is an artificial intelligence paradigm that enables autonomous systems to operate independently, make decisions, and execute actions without constant human oversight. Unlike traditional AI models that respond reactively to prompts, agentic AI demonstrates proactive behavior through goal-oriented planning, environmental perception, and adaptive learning capabilities. These systems leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) combined with reasoning frameworks, memory systems, and tool integration to perform complex multi-step tasks. Key characteristics include autonomous decision-making, dynamic planning and replanning, persistent memory across interactions, and the ability to use external tools and APIs.

Agentic AI applications span from personal assistants that manage schedules and communications to enterprise systems handling customer service, data analysis, and workflow automation. The architecture typically incorporates planning modules, execution engines, feedback loops, and safety mechanisms to ensure reliable performance. Advanced implementations feature multi-agent coordination, where multiple AI agents collaborate to solve complex problems through distributed intelligence and specialized roles.
