Gemini LangChain
Gemini LangChain is an integration that connects Google’s Gemini 1.5 Pro multimodal model to the LangChain framework via the GoogleGenerativeAI wrapper. A single import — from langchain_google_genai import Gemini — exposes Gemini’s 1 million token context window and Vision-Text capabilities in the standard LangChain ChatModel interface. Developers pass in an API key, temperature, and security settings, then push the model into chains, agents, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines just as they would in GPT-4. The wrapper passes tokens, supports function invocation, and exposes latency and cost metrics in callback panels. When combined with Gemini Vector Store, LangChain grounds responses in PDFs, images, and audio transcripts in a single request, enabling use cases like contract reviews with page snapshots or voice memo summaries with embedded quotes. Because each LangChain component is swappable, teams can switch between Gemini and competing LLMs with a single line of code — enabling future-proof multimodal AI applications without rewriting business logic.
